National Mourning — Passing of Former President and Mujahid Liamine Zeroual
Following the passing of the former President of the Republic and Mujahid, Liamine Zeroual, the Presidency of the Republic has declared a three-day national mourning period across the entire national territory and within diplomatic missions abroad, with flags to be flown at half-mast.
The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, traveled to the Mohamed Seghir Nekkache Military Hospital in Algiers to pay his respects to the late former President and to extend his condolences to his family and loved ones.
In his capacity as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, the President also traveled to Batna to oversee the official funeral ceremonies.
A solemn and dignified funeral, attended by thousands of citizens, was held in the city of Batna in honor of the late former President.
On this occasion, the President presented the national flag to the son of the deceased following his interment.
May the late Mujahid Liamine Zeroual rest in peace and be granted eternal Paradise.
