📜 Important Notice for Algerian Citizens Residing Abroad 🇩🇿
The Embassy of Algeria urges all Algerian nationals permanently residing overseas to complete their consular registration, a prerequisite for passport issuance and voter registration.
📌 Algerian citizens 19 and older can apply for consular registration and receive a consular card free of charge and valid for five years.
- Married Algerian women can be registered under their husband's file.
- Children under 19 are registered with their parents.
📌 Required documents may be submitted in person (no appointment needed) or by mail to:

Your cooperation ensures seamless access to consular services and maintains your official connection with Algeria.
If you have moved to another consular district, you must transfer your registration. The Embassy manages this procedure, and your registration will be granted once the file is received from your previous Embassy or Consulate, please submit the following documents:
✅ Completed Application Form – Must be fully completed and signed;
✅ Expired Consular Card – If lost or stolen, submit a Lost Report Form;
✅ Proof of Legal U.S. Residency – U.S. passport, Green Card, or Valid visa (F, H, G, A, etc.);
✅ Copy of U.S. entry visa (if applicable);
✅ Copy of the photo page of your Algerian passport (if available);
✅ Proof of Address – Must show you live within the Embassy’s jurisdiction;
✅ Proof of Employment, Self-Employment, or School Enrollment (official documents accepted);
✅ Tow (2) Recent Passport-Sized Photos (2x2 inches / 51x51 mm, white background, neutral expression, no smile, clear forehead);
✅ Self-Addressed Stamped Return Envelope (only if submitting by mail).

Algerian citizens registering for the first time must provide the following documents:
✅ Completed Application Form – Must be fully completed and signed;
✅ Original Birth Certificate – Full version;
✅ One parent's Birth or Death Certificate – Full version;
✅ For applicants born outside Algeria: Provide birth certificates of two (2) paternal ancestors born in Algeria or a Certificate of Algerian Nationality;
✅ Marriage Certificate (for married applicants) or Divorce Judgment (for divorced women);
✅ Proof of Legal U.S. Residency – U.S. passport, Green Card, or Valid visa (F, H, G, A, etc.);
✅ Copy of U.S. entry visa (if applicable);
✅ Copy of the photo page of your Algerian passport (if available);
✅ Proof of Address – Must show you live within the Embassy’s jurisdiction;
✅ Proof of Employment, Self-Employment, or School Enrollment (official documents accepted);
