REMOVAL FROM THE CONSULAR REGISTER
You may be removed from the consular register under the following circumstances:
📌 REASONS FOR REMOVAL:
❌ Death.
❌ Permanent return to Algeria.
❌ Relocation to a different consular district.
❌ Upon your written request.
❌ Failure to renew your registration for over 10 years.
⚠️ CONSEQUENCES OF REMOVAL:
- If your registration is removed, your name will also be deleted from the electoral roll (voting list).
- If you require a Certificate of Deletion (Certificat de radiation / شهادة شطب), a processing fee will apply.
📌 HOW TO APPLY:
You have two options for requesting removal from the consular register:
- If applying in Algeria:
The request for cancellation of consular registration must be submitted in person at:
📍 Civil Status Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad
📍 Plateau des Annassers, Kouba – Algiers
- If applying through the Embassy:
Submit the following documents:
✅ Completed Application Form – Must be fully completed and signed.
✅ Original or Expired Consular Card – If lost or stolen, submit a Lost Report Form.
✅ USPS Money Order for $2.50.
✅ Self-Addressed Stamped Return Envelope (only if submitting by mail).
