Announcement — Voting by Proxy
In anticipation of the legislative elections scheduled for July 2, 2026, the Coordination of the Independent National Election Authority at the Embassy of Algeria in Washington, D.C. informs Algerian citizens residing within its consular jurisdiction that voters abroad who are unable to exercise their voting rights may do so by proxy, in accordance with the following procedures.
- Submit the proxy in person at the Embassy of Algeria in Washington, D.C. (a standard form is available at the Embassy).
- Citizens who encounter difficulties, particularly in traveling to the Embassy, may complete a proxy using the official template, in either Arabic or English, have it duly notarized by the competent authorities at their place of residence, and submit it by email to: elections@algerianembassy.org
Important Notes:
- Both the mandatary and the mandator must be registered at the same polling station
- Each proxy (agent) may hold only one proxy
- The Embassy's competent services will verify and validate the information provided
