The Embassy of Algeria urges Algerian citizens residing permanently abroad to complete their consular registration, which is a prerequisite for passport issuance and voter registration.
Algerian citizens aged 19 and over may apply for consular registration and obtain a consular card free of charge, valid for five years. Married Algerian women may, where applicable, be registered under their husband's file. Children under 19 are generally registered under their parents' file.
Applications may be submitted in person, without appointment, or by mail to the Embassy of Algeria in Washington, D.C.
