Important Notice to the Algerian Community in the United States - Change of Residence Certificate (CCR) – Finance Law 2026

The Embassy of Algeria in Washington, D.C. informs Algerian nationals residing in the United States that the 2026 Finance Law introduces important updates to the conditions governing benefits related to the Change of Residence Certificate (CCR).

🔹 Key Updates

Under Article 127, registered Algerian citizens may import, upon definitive return to Algeria, and with exemption from customs duties and foreign trade controls:

• One electric, gasoline, or hybrid passenger vehicle max. 1,800 cm³, or
• One utility vehicle for goods transport (max. 5.950 tons GVW), or
• One two-wheeled motor vehicle is subject to registration

📌 Vehicles may be new or less than five (05) years old at the time of entry.

❗ Diesel-powered vehicles are excluded from CCR benefits.

🔹 Total Authorized CCR Value (Personal Effects + Vehicle)

• 8 million DZD for students and trainees
• 10 million DZD for other citizens
