On this occasion, Minister Ahmed Attaf held a private meeting with Under Secretary Christopher Landau, followed by expanded talks involving members of both countries' delegations.

These discussions focused on reviewing the remarkable momentum characterizing the various facets of Algerian-American relations, as well as exploring prospects for injecting further impetus into them. This is to be achieved by strengthening strategic dialogue and consolidating partnerships in priority areas of cooperation such as energy, investment, innovation, trade, agriculture, air transport, and higher education.

Furthermore, the two parties discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the evolving situation in the Sahel region, as well as the latest developments regarding the political process aimed at resolving the Western Sahara issue.
