The ceremony was attended by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, Mr. Sofiane Chaib. The agreement was signed by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lounas Magramane, and the Director-General of National Security, Mr. Ali Bedaoui.

In his remarks on this occasion, the Secretary-General emphasized that this agreement constitutes a new building block in the process of modernizing consular services, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs places among its top priorities. This reflects the particular importance that the President of the Republic attaches to our national community abroad, considered an integral component of the Algerian nation.

This dimension received particular attention during the Conference of Heads of Consular Centers, held in February 2026, which resulted in a number of relevant recommendations.

The agreement aims to accelerate the processing of consular services through the adoption of a new digital system aligned with the national strategy for digital transformation.

This agreement also reflects the shared commitment of the Foreign Affairs and Interior sectors to establish a complementary approach based on strengthened coordination and intensified cooperation between them, in support of the State's efforts to modernize public administration and improve public services provided both within the country and abroad.
