Visit of the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State to Algeria
The United States Deputy Secretary of State, Mr. Christopher Landau, has arrived in Algeria for his first official visit to the country.
This visit provides an opportunity to further strengthen bilateral relations between Algeria and the United States, expand areas of cooperation, and exchange views on shared priorities of mutual interest.
It also offers an occasion to discover the city of Algiers, where rich historical heritage meets modern urban life along the Mediterranean coast.
During his visit, Mr. Landau held meetings with the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, the Minister of Mines, Mr. Karim Hannifi, and the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Mr. Kamel Rezig. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in the fields of energy, mining, and trade.
Talks emphasized strengthening the existing partnership and exploring new avenues of cooperation, particularly in supporting innovation, developing natural resources, and promoting trade between the two countries, while identifying promising areas for future collaboration.
